FAQS ON JOB APPLICATION

To help your application make a lasting impression, we would like to answer some of the important questions regarding your job application with IHI Charging Systems International GmbH:

1. Should I apply by mail or e-mail?

As a technologically innovative company we would be happy to receive your application by e-mail at jobs-heidelberg@ihi-csi.de. This simplifies the application process and saves you and us postage fees.

2. What documents are required?

Your application should include the important, relevant information regarding yourself and your history.
Your Cover Letter
The cover letter is one of the most important parts of your application. State your reasons for your interest in the job and our company. You have to state your salary requirement and your earliest availability or notice period!

Your CV (Resume)

We need a complete account of your education, professional training and professional experience. Typically, you would start with your higher school education. Make sure to explain any gaps in your CV (e.g. application period, stay abroad, etc.) Your language and IT skills as well as your hobbies are also interesting to us.

Your Credentials

Please include all important certificates, including work certificates, school/college certificates or diplomas. However, course certificates or similar documents are unnecessary.

Your References

In some cases and for some positions (e.g. management) we might request references or work samples. However, we will of course let you know before we contact any of your reference contacts.

3. How many attachments can I send and how big can my e-mail be?

Ideally, your online application should be limited to 1-3 attachments, so as to make it easier for us to peruse all the relevant information as quickly as possible. The best approach is a PDF folder including the following documents in the following sequence: cover letter, CV, certificates. Please note that we only accept PDF or ZIP files. The maximum size of your e-mail is 5MB. If we require any additional documents we will ask for them specifically.

4. What do I have to know about the interview?

Depending on the position the application process will include various selection stages: phone interviews and traditional interviews or even assessment centers. The goal is to learn more about you - your personality, your strengths and, of course, your professional skills. A personal meeting will also give you the opportunity to get to know your prospective employer and gain insights into our tasks.

5. How can I get a refund on my travel expenses?

Generally, we refund travel expenses only upon request and for travel with Deutsche Bahn (2. class). Additional costs (hotel, air fare, etc.) must be approved by our HR-department in advance.
In order to refund your travel expenses we need the following documents:

6. How long does the application process take and who can I call for questions?

Usually, the application process takes 2-6 weeks, depending on the number of incoming applications and the availability of the responsible employee for questions and interviews. Of course, you can always send an e-mail or call us with your questions on the current state of your application.
